JUNE SPECIAL - ONE NIGHT ONLY

HAVE YOU EATEN X BANZHA

HAVE YOU EATEN is Seven Yuan’s decade-old habit of turning Montréal restaurants into temporary Yunnan embassies.

Each lunar festival—New Year, Dragon Boat, Mid-Autumn - arrives as a one-night pop-up where chilli oil speaks more fluently than small talk.

Menus lean homesick: cold noodles, mountain mushrooms - none of it polite to your cardiologist.

Call it dinner, performance, or civic duty; Yuan simply asks, “Have you eaten?” and refuses to take “yes” for an answer.

Date: 14 June from 16:00

Banzha is Yunnan slang for fantastic

It’s what we say after a great meal, and that’s the feeling we hope you leave with

Dine In

Takeaway

We are located in the heart of Bergen, serving bold, shareable dishes from Yunnan in Southwest China. Our food is fresh, vibrant, and full of contrast. Meant to be enjoyed together, around the table, in a relaxed and social atmosphere.

Yunnan is home to one of China’s most diverse groups of ethnic minorities, each with their own traditions, ingredients, and ways of cooking. This rich cultural mix is at the heart of what makes the food so unique.

At Banzha we serve food based on recipes from Michelle's upbringing in Yunnan. Our philosophy is to cook with love and care for the ingredients we use, to create an authentic and memorable dining experience.

WHAT’S COOKIN’?

We love bold, spicy, and balanced flavours, and we love to play with texture. Crunchy, chewy, acidic, and fresh all in one bite. Our food is made to widen your palate and wake up your taste buds.

Aromatics are at the heart of our kitchen. We toast and grind our spices from scratch. Nothing beats the smell of fresh Chinese five-spice.

When a home-style braised tofu meets wild garlic from Norway. We blend traditional recipes with fresh local seasonal produces.
